Historical Overview

About SRTS

SRTS was born out of a providential gathering of Reformed theological leaders in Medellín, Colombia, in September 2022. During a consultation meeting hosted by Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary (PRTS), representatives from Spanish-speaking seminaries across Latin America came together to share a vision for advancing Reformed theological education.

This meeting forged strategic partnerships among seminaries and expanded access to accredited master’s-level theological education in the region like never before.

A Calling to Translate

Amid these gospel opportunities, under the leadership of Dr. Adriaan Neele and Dr. Bruce Baugus, the group—including PRTS students Luis Loaiza and Daniel Navarro—recognized the urgent need to supply Hispanic seminaries with a strong portfolio of theological works to support and strengthen theological education.

With this burden on their hearts, they united around a shared vision to:

  • Translate Reformed Christian literature from English into Spanish
  • Provide seminaries with trusted theological resources
  • Ensure professors and students have access to classic Reformed works

SRTS was officially established as a nonprofit ministry recognized by the IRS in June 2024, marking the formal beginning of its translation efforts

Our First Major Project

By God’s grace, SRTS launched its first major project in partnership with Reformation Translation Fellowship (RTF-USA): The translation of Robert Shaw’s Commentary on the Westminster Confession of Faith

This essential theological resource now strengthens the Spanish-speaking Reformed world, equipping pastors, seminary students, and churches.

What We Believe

We stand in the Reformed and Presbyterian tradition, subscribing to the theological heritage expressed in the historic confessions of faith:

  • The Westminster Standards (Confession of Faith, Larger and Shorter Catechisms)
  • The Three Forms of Unity (Belgic Confession, Heidelberg Catechism, Canons of Dort)

These confessional documents summarize the system of doctrine taught in Scripture.

Since 2024, and in partnership with ASPRAL (Asociación de Seminarios Presbiterianos y Reformados de América Latina), SRTS has sponsored translations into Spanish and facilitated the publication and dissemination of historically important Reformed theological literature originally published in the 16th-20th century.

Our Commitment

From its inception, SRTS has been driven by a firm commitment to God’s truth and the advancement of Christ’s kingdom. With every book translated and published, we seek to:

  • Equip pastors, seminary students, and churches
  • Strengthen theological Provide access to the riches of historic Reformed theology
  • Strengthen theological education for generations to come

“The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.” – Psalm 68:11
